For years the pitch for a summer evening in Vienna was the calendar itself: Viva Vienna on Memorial Day, Chillin' on Church every third Friday, Friday night concerts on the Town Green, and Oktoberfest in the fall. Those still anchor the season. The quieter shift is that the retail and restaurant fabric between those events has thickened enough that the calendar isn't the reason to come downtown anymore.
